Salt is commonly used on the roads during the wintertime to melt ice. Your tires will inevitably kick up ice onto your car causing corrosion to occur if it isn't cleaned off frequently.
Here are a few ways you can protect and prevent your car from the salt on the road:
- Apply ceramic coating or wax
Use a ceramic coating to give your paint job an extra layer of protection. Wax is also another temporary way to protect the paint job from dirt, salt, UV rays and more.
- Degrease the engine regularly
Salt gets into the engine bay and can cause problems, so that's why it's important to spray a degreaser on the engine and spray it off with water when at the car wash.
